Selena Marie Gomez, /s@'li?n@ /goUmez/s@LEEn@ GOHmez was born July 22, 1992. She is an American actress, singer, and producer. Gomez began her acting career in 2002 on the children's TV series Barney & Friends. She became famous for her role as Alex Russo, a teenage star on the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-12). In addition to her TV career, Gomez appeared in the films Another Cinderella Story (2008), Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2009), Ramona and Beezus (2010), Monte Carlo (2011), Spring Breakers (2012), Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016), and The Dead Don't Die (2019) as well as as the voice of Mavis in the Hotel Transylvania film franchise (2012-2022). Gomez through July Moon Productions, executive produced 13 Reasons Why (2017-2022) and Living Undocumented (1919). She also stars in the Hulu comedy series that is a mystery Only Murders in the Building (21-21). The latter earned Gomez high praise from critics, as well as nominations for the Golden Globe Award, and as a producer and producer, a Primetime Emmy Award .Gomez released three albums with her former group, Selena Gomez & the Scene, all of which made it to the top ten on the US Billboard 200 and were certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA): Kiss & Tell (2009), A Year Without Rain (2010), and When the Sun is Down (2011). The album she released as her solo debut, Stars Dance (2013) was a top album on the U.S. Billboard 200, and its lead single "Come & Take It" was a top ten hit on the US Billboard Hot 100. Gomez's second album, Revival (2015) debuted at the top of the charts in the US. It was certified platinum by RIAA and produced three top ten tracks in the US: "Good for You" as well as "Same Old Lovin" and "Hands to Myself". Her third studio album, Rare (2020), became her third consecutive number one in the US and featured the lead single, "Lose You to Love Me", her first top-ten hit song in the US and Canada.
