Justin Bieber's bilingual version of Despacito was released in 2017. Soon after, famous artists began collaborating with reggaeton artists. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny on MIA (2018) as well as Madonna was a part of Maluma in the creation of Medellin. A few performers of reggaeton have criticized the shift to popular music by 2020. However, a brand new band, Rauw Alejandro wanted to maintain the development and growth of reggaeton. Rauw Alejandro incorporated electronic dance forms and others into his music.
